Winter Solstice

7 Miles Today; Winter Solstice, yes that's what it felt like this morning. Forrest went out at 5:30 am with sweat pants, insulated top, gloves, hat. It was a cool 33 degrees. Even though it was chilly it was nice walking. Early morning seems to work out best for Forrest. Tomorrow I pass through the town of Holdrege, Nebraska. Holdrege pop. 5600, was ranked the 38th Best Small Town in America to live and raise a family. Holdrege was named after George W. Holdrege, general manager of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad Company in 1883. According to the map, Forrest is about 20 miles south of Interstate 80. (FYI) The Nebraska State Bird is the Western Meadowlark. The 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford was born in Omaha on July 14, 1913. Walk Forrest Walk

It's gloomy here today in S.C. raining all day. I'm so proud of you keep walking. My foot has been hurting me since my 5 miles on Saturday but I keep going. Your S-I-L from SC.

It's almost 9:30 on Tuesday morning. You didn't get the worm today:) I'm a faithful reader. It was cold here, so my plans to bike to work today were changed. I have to wear too much gear and then I have to bike home with that extra gear on my back. Another day. Walk on Forrest.
