Another Month In The Books

7 Miles Today; It was a very nice morning for walking, 70 degrees and sunny. Forrest is reducing his mileage until his tired feet feel better. I noticed today I had very little trouble after the first mile. My 245 miles this month of July marked the second highest monthly total since Forrest started walking some 22 months ago. I saw in my log that last August Forrest had trouble with hip, and shin-splints. My mileage was only in the l80's. So if this old body treats me right this August, Forrest wants to hit the 200 mile mark. As I make my way along Hwy 218 the dominate color is GREEN, everything is green. My next stop will be Charles City, Iowa some 26 miles North of this location. Sunday of this week Forrest should arrive there. I've researched and found some interesting stuff to write about in the upcoming days. Today, my bride Joanne and I are headed to Coldwater Mi. to watch Joanne's cousin Julie's son compete in the Connie Mack State Baseball Tournament. David her son is pitching. Forrest has seen David pitch in the High School State Tournament, I my opinion David is the real deal. So for today, that's all folks. God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

Another Day~~~~Another Town

7 Miles Today; Outside of dodging raindrops and a little wind, it wasn't a bad morning. With less miles my tired feet felt a whole lot better. Forrest got his walk in early because he has to install a overhead kitchen sink light fixture for the neighbor lady. Also she wants me to install a new electrical cord on her new Sears dryer. Today I entered the city of Waverly, Iowa population 9,300. The picture is of a dam on the Cedar River in Downtown Waverly. Forrest will be on Hwy 218 North until he arrives at the Iowa/Minnesota State Line some 70 miles from here. Until tomorrow this is "Tired Feet Forrest" signing off. God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

Nothing Like Dallas

9 Miles Today; There was plenty of heat & humidity today, but like I said in my lead in "Nothing like Dallas." My son Tony, who lives there said it was 106 yesterday, 102 today and tomorrow, the rest of the week looks like an inferno according the weather channel. So with that said, Forrest is not going to gripe about the weather. If Tony had 85 degrees where he is at, he would be wearing a sweatshirt. Lately Forrest has been having discomfort with sore arches and bones in his feet. So today, Dr. Forrest tried something new, to see if my thinking was on track, (I've always had the feeling that I lace my shoes too TIGHT) so today when the old footsies started to give me trouble, about 2 miles into my walk, Forrest stopped and loosened the laces on my left shoe only. Low and behold, the last 7 miles my left foot stopped hurting and the right foot hurt the whole distance. Forrest has a dilemma, do I charge myself $$$ for medical advice?? Forrest is back in wide open country again, all kinds of farm land. I'm 10 miles North of Cedar Falls on Hwy. 218 with the the town of Janesville population of 850 just a mile or two away. No fast food tomorrow, I am counting on Janesville to have a good Mom & Pop dinner just beckoning the walking man to visit. Until tomorrow, God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

North To Minnesota

10 Miles Today; Forrest was only going to walk 8 miles, but being such a nice morning I just kept walking. I was on the road from 8am to 11am. Anyway, with my distance Forrest is in the town we have all heard so much on the national news this spring & summer, because of all the flooding that took place here. Cedar Falls, Iowa population 36,145. It's a pretty city, but Forrest won't be hanging around for very long, after a short break, and lunch it's on the road again. My sites are set on Austin, Minnesota some 90-100 miles North of my location. I see there are just 3 walking days left in July. Until tomorrow, God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

We Stick Together

9 Miles Today; A great Sunday morning, temperature 74 degrees, sunny and low humidity. My time was 2hr & 29 min. With my distance today Forrest is 1 mile from the Waterloo, Iowa city limits. I could have made it today, but nobody is around on the week-end. Forrest expects to get the keys to the city tomorrow. Boy, that's a stretch. Now anyone who reads this blog will now know that Forrest has been out it the sun a little too long. This morning Forrest saw his friend Biscuit (a Golden Retriever) and Maureen. It was nice seeing both of them. Now the last installment of Forrest's story; As a direct result of the Sullivans' deaths the U.S. War Department adopted the Sole Survivor Policy. The Navy named two destroyers The Sullivans' (DDG-68) and The Sullivans' (DD537) in honor of the boys. The first Sulllivan ship is now a museum located in Buffalo, NY. The motto for both ships was the motto of the Sullivan Brothers, "We stick together." Genevieve, the boys only sister, served in the WAVES. She was the girlfriend of Bill Ball, whose death at Pearl Harbor prompted her brothers to join the Navy to avenge him. Al Sullivan's son, Jimmy, served on board the first USS The Sullivans. His grandmother christened the first ship. The second USS The Sullivans was christen by Al's granddaughter Kelli Ann Sullivan Loughren. On a sad note; the 5 Sullivans were not the only siblings who perished on the fateful day in November 1942. Seven (7) sets of brothers were killed in action aboard the USS Juneau on the day. The last living survivor of the sinking of the Juneau is Frank Holgren from Eatontown, New Jersey age 85 years old. And finally a new museum wing is being built in honor of their service in WWII, set to open in November 2008 in downtown Waterloo, Iowa......Walk Forrest Walk

All Five

8 Miles Today; With my distance today, Forrest had a decent week of walking, I log 52 miles. For me a 50 mile week is my goal, along with a 200 mile month. Forrest is at 203 miles with 5 days left in July. The weather today was overcast and extremely humid. Saturday is a day when the amateurs are all out walking, riding, bicycling. Sunday they wonder way their muscles are sore. Forrest is getting close to Waterloo, I'm 10 miles from the city limits. Monday is the day I enter this fine city of 69,000. Compared to where I have been lately, Forrest will be like a fish out of water, I'll need help finding my way out of town to continue my journey. Now to continue my story on the 5 Sullivan Brothers: After the horrific explosion and sinking of the USS Juneau, with approximately 700 sailors aboard only about 100 survived. After drifting eight days in the Pacific Ocean 10 survivors were rescued from the shark infested waters. The survivors reported that Frank, Joe, and Matt died instantly, Al drowned the next day and George survived 4-5 days before succumbing. In the movie "The Fighting Sullivans" the scene where Commander Robinson, U.S. Navy, in full dress uniform visits the Sullivan's home. Everyone gathers in the living room, Mom, Dad, sister Genevieve, and Katherine Mary (Albert's wife). Before Commander Robinson can read the official War Department announcement of a military person killed in action, Mrs. Sullivan with tears in her eyes looks at Commander Robinson and says "WHICH ONE" Commander Robinson replies, "All Five"

Heartbreaking Story

7 Miles Today; Forrest got out early this morning, 4:45 am. It was nice morning, during my walk I witnessed a beautiful sunrise, and of course the variety of birds chirping. I've got to get right to my story because Forrest has to take my nephew's son (10yrs old) to Hockey Camp this morning at Michigan State. He has to be there all day. Forrest is not a big hockey fan, but I think it will be nice spending time with Ben.. Now to continue my story from yesterday. The fatal day for the USS Juneau CL-52 was Thursday November 12, 1942. The Juneau was on duty in the Pacific Ocean off the Solomon Islands. The Sullivan Brothers along with approximately 700 shipmates were aboard ship when a torpedo ripped into her hull. A tremendous explosion ensued Amazingly, there had been survivors, more that 100, almost all were severely wounded among them was George Sullivan. George Sullivan spent the last four days of his life crying out for his brothers, Francis, Joseph, Madison, and Albert. Tomorrow the terrible aftermath of the USS Juneau. God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

25 Miles To Waterloo

7 Miles Today; My walk today was very nice, sunny about 68 degrees and no aches or pains. Up until the last couple of days, Forrest was having some discomfort in both of his arches. Everyone says rest will take care of tired arches, but for me that is not an option. You know I think Forrest must have been a postman in his other life. No matter what the circumstances the mail must go through. In my case I must walk, why? because I love it. O.K. now part II of my story about the Sullivan Family. The five boys and sister Genevieve (Gen) were raised the small town of Waterloo, Iowa to a Irish American Catholic family. The Sullivan's life changed along with millions of Americans on Sunday December 7, 1941, when they hear a radio broadcast about the attack on Pearl Harbor. The boys and the rest of the family realized that one their friends was on the USS Arizona that was sunk. They decided to join the Navy to do their patriotic duty. I still can't believe the United States Navy let these boys serve on the same ship. The USS Juneau. Tomorrow part III God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

Forrest Remembering

7 Miles Today; The past few months Forrest has mentioned Waterloo, Iowa as a benchmark destination for my journey. The first being 19 Dec 2007 in my blog. The reason being, ever since I watched the movie "The Fighting Sullivans" some 30 years ago I've been intrigued and haunted by the Sullivan story. The five brothers, George 27, Francis (Frank) 26, Joseph (Joe) 24, Madison (Matt) 23, Albert (Al) 20. Five brothers from Waterloo went to war on a ship, and none of them came home. All five were killed 13 Nov. 1942 on the USS Juneau. As Forrest approaches Waterloo in next few days I'll will telling my story of George, Francis, Joseph, Madison, and Albert Sullivan. Part II tomorrow. God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

Cool Weather

9 Miles Today; The weather was great this morning, so Forrest just kept walking in the the 70 degree paradise. From here to Waterloo all Forrest will see is C&C. The up-side to this scenario is the clean air and peace and quiet & the beautiful country side. Forrest heard through the grapevine that Tri-Girl has been busy with big time road races. She better be on top of her game if she wants to have a chance to overtake Forrest. I know why she hasn't blogged, she's been pumping iron, etc. Morristown N.J. & Lake Placid N.Y. Wow! Here is Forrest chugging along on the back roads of America, and Tri-Girl hob-knobbing on the Eastern Seaboard. Forrest should be in Waterloo about this time next week. Until tomorrow, C & C (crops & cows)

Dog Days Of Summer

7 Miles Today; The trick is, get your exercise in the first thing in the morning. My time last night was 2hr. & 1 min. -- Today the same distance was 1hr & 56 min. Forrest is slowly making his way to Waterloo, I'm now just 48 miles away. I'm on Hwy 63 North just 4 miles South of the village of Toledo, population 2,550. Tomorrow's blog I hope will have some zip to it, today's is a dud. Take care everyone. God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

Short & Sweet

7 Miles Today; If every day was like tonight's walk, Forrest would be a couch potato. My heart was not into today's venture. I was tired from doing a wood working project in the garage. I started it Sat. and furnished it early this evening. So my 2 hour walk was miserable, Forrest just didn't have the spirit. But as I am writing tonight's blog entry, Forrest feels better by the minute. My blog tonight is short, but tomorrow will be here before I know it. Before I sign off, Tri-Girl is not on my radar, I can't find her. Where are you hiding, it's been 8 days since you wrote in your blog. Maybe you passed Forrest without him even knowing it. My brother's birthday is today, 20 July, Happy Birthday Tom. God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

300 Posts

6 Miles Today; Forrest can't believe it; today marks my 300th entry to by blog. Like I said to my son Tony 8 months ago, when he suggested that I start a blog. Quote, "Tony isn't a blog what a bird does to your car windshield." So after some 4200 hits I am still letting my fingers and my feet do the walking. As my bride says, "Tony created a monster."The upside of this whole scenario is walking & writing makes Forrest a happy camper. Now fast forward to Iowa, today I passed through Malcom, Iowa population 360. Forrest walked 56 miles this week and is approximately 62 miles from Waterloo. I would like to take this opportunity to honor a war hero from a nearby town of Grinnell, Iowa just 4 mile East of my location. The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Norman F. Bates, Sergent U.S. Army, 4th Iowa Cavalry. For action at Columbus, Ga. 17 June 17, 1865 (Civil War). Hwy. 63 will be lonely the next 10 days or so, that's ok, Forrest can do his research on Waterloo, and the "Fighting Sullivans Brothers" U.S. Navy WWII. God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

Lookout For Traffic

9 Miles Today; Today was another humid day, but not as bad as yesterday. Forrest is having a pretty good week as far as miles go, so tomorrow I'll back off and give my tired feet a break. Six miles sounds like a good number for Saturday. Forrest flew through Montezuma so fast the citizens thought it was BAT MAN heading for his big movie premier. Interstate 80 is just a couple of miles North of me. Exit 191 is where Forrest will be crossing on his pursuit to get to Waterloo, which is 68 miles away. Iowa City, is approximately 50 miles East of my location. Tomorrow weather is supposed to be cooler, so until then, remember folks; "If life throws lemons at you, don't get depressed, just take them and make lemonade." God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

Corn, Corn, & More Corn

9 Miles Today; I had 2 hours and 31 minutes of very hot and humid weather today. Forrest's walk on a scale of 1 to 10 was a 8. Take away the sweating and it was a great walk. Tomorrow I enter the town of Montezuma, population 1650. Montezuma was founded in 1848. It has an intriguing name in the honor of the last emperor of the Aztecs, by the veterans of the war with Mexico, for the life of me I can't figure that one out. The town is also the county seat of Poweshiek County. After Montezuma, Forrest will have Waterloo in his sites, less than 100 miles away. There is so much corn here, that Forrest expects to see old time ball players come out from between the rows of maize, like in the movie "Field Of Dreams." Until Tomorrow, God Bless; Walk Forrest Walk

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

7 Miles Today; It was very humid this morning, with my walk in, Forrest doesn't care how hot it gets the rest of the day. With the air conditioning on and Dick & Cathy's pool next door, it just beckons for Forrest to indulge, life is not all that bad for the man... Now back to the Hawkeye State, with New Sharon's only traffic light being in the green mode, Forrest passed right through the town without stopping. I'll be in Montezuma, Iowa probably Friday. Montezuma is 8 miles South of Interstate 80 on Hwy 63. Forrest thinks Iowa tops Michigan when it comes to Humid Weather. The reason being the corn here is 12 feet tall!! Now before I say so long for today, here is a big hello to Brya family for inviting Forrest over to their home to watch the Baseball All-Star Game. Watching and taking baseball with Coach Brya and his dad Gary was awesome. Also Forrest says hi to the kids, Gabbie & Molly. I almost forgot, the most important person there, the MOM; Sara God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

Sagittarius

8 Miles Today; Since Forrest is out in the middle of nowhere, his mind wandered a little bit today. I never look at horoscopes but today by accident I came across mine for today July 15th. And Forrest thinks who ever wrote the horoscope described him to the max. It goes like this; As much as I have already seen the world, there is still some joys I'd like to experience. Though I'm busy now I'll never be too busy to make a proactive decision about my next adventure. Sagittarius is the 9th sign of the zodiac and is thought to be optimistic, wise, outspoken, and independent. Now that describes the Forrest "perfecto"......O.K. enough laughs for today, tomorrow I pass through the small town of New Sharon, a population of 1000, 75% German, 15% Czechoslovakian. That leaves 10% of something, inquiring minds want to know....Maybe Rednecks. God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk...

What a Beautiful Town

9 Miles Today; Well here I am, at the town square of Oskaloosa, Iowa. The statue you see in the picture is the 19th-century leader of a Native American tribe called the Ioways, for whom Mahaska County was named. Oskaloosa population 11,000 is the county seat of Mahaska County. Oskaloosa is the current home of William Penn University (student body of 800). It is also the home of Musco Lighting, an Academy Award-winning company that provides permanent and temporary lighting for major sports venues around the world. A big event each year is The Sweet corn Serenade held in the downtown city square. Along with very nice music, the main attraction is the corn on the cob that you can get, along with many other fine foods. Now you tell me, isn't Oskaloosa a great place to raise a family. After breakfast, Forrest is heading North on Hwy 63. The next two towns are really small. The first one is New Sharon, 12 miles from here, then another 12 miles comes Montezuma. Forrest can't wait to find out how the fore mention town got it's name. Inquiring minds want to know. Before signing off, Forrest would like to wish Dr. W. Schoonover (Clinton County's # 1 Dentist) a very happy birthday, which is today. God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

Better Late Than Never

8 Miles Today; Here it is 10 pm and Forrest is now doing his blog, just under the deadline. It seemed strange to me, leaving when the sun is out, and getting home in darkness. Today I passed through Eddyville, Iowa a small town of a population of approx. 1000. Tomorrow 9 miles from here is the city of Oskaloosa, the county seat of Mahaska County. I'll be doing a little reading about this town. It sounds like American Indian history will come to the forefront in my research for tomorrow's entry. God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

Now That's More Like It

7 Miles Today; Forrest topped off this week, with a nice walk where all the joints and muscles worked like they were supposed to. My time this morning was l hr and 54 min. that's one minute off my best time for that distance. Forrest's weekly milage total was 57 miles. Just think Forrest can start out at "Zero" tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll will be in Eddyville, Iowa population 1100. I probably won't be spending much time there. Eddyville has no stoplights, 2 gas stations, 1 bank, 3 bars, 1 police officer (Charlie, who use to be the county sheriff), and last but not least no Wal-Mart.... My location is 118 miles South of Waterloo, Iowa on Hwy. 63. Until we meet again, God Bless....~Walk Forrest Walk

Elsie Dairy Festival

10 Miles Today; Forrest started out this morning at 5:45 with the intentions of going 8 miles but it turned out to be longer. I was stiff and never did feel loose the whole distance. I've walked enought to know that these days do happen. The bottom line was it was not fun today. Today, Forrest passed through two towns, Ottumwa pop. 25,000 and Rutledge (just a sign). My next town is Eddyville Iowa, some 13 mile North. As of today Friday 11 July....Forrest is 125 miles South of Waterloo, Iowa. This is a big week-end for my home town of Elsie, Mi. The three day festival has something for everyone, events like Bovine, Bingo, and The Cow Pie Toss, also live entertainment with Beatles Tribute Artist tonight and The Yoopers on the main stage tomorrow. Now with a few Polka's thrown in for good measure a person cannot help but have a great week-end. Lets hear it for The Elsie Dairy Days......"Take that," Chicago, Dallas, Spartanburg, and all the other big cities...Until tomorrow, God Bless ~ Walk Forrest Walk~

7 Miles Today; Very warm and humid today. Nothing but open road today. Forrest will pass through Ottumwa, Iowa pop 25,000 tomorrow. So far Iowa is what I though it would be. Cornfields, Cows, Silos & one lane roads. That's it for today so until tomorrow, God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

Enjoying The Lanscape

8 Miles Today; I think Forrest might have gotten the worm today, I was out before day light. It was a humid morning but it was O.K. with Forrest, he felt strong and worked up a good sweat. It seems that the mornings treat me well, as in physically, mentally, and my best times. Forrest is in open country now and will not enter another town until Friday. The next town's name is Ottumwa, home of these notable persons, Tom Arnold (actor) Radar O'Reilly (the character for the TV program "M*A*S*H*") also the home town of Russell Means (American Indian Activist). A note to the "N.J. Buds", if you are going to sneak up on the man, now is the time. One half of the "Flyin' G'mas" is on vacation, So Forrest just has my bride to keep a eye out for the enemy the next couple of days. You can tell that Forrest is upbeat today, God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

Middle America Heat

9 Miles Today: The weather today was extremely muggy. Forrest just passed through the city (Forrest doesn't see many cities on his route) of Bloomfield, Iowa. It will be several days before I come upon any resemblance of settlements, but quiet walking is what Forrest likes. Bloomfield with a population of 26,000 is a nice Middle America community having the privilege of being the Home Town of James Dunlavy..Private Dunlavy, U.S. Army of the 3d Iowa Cavalry was a recipient of the Medal Of Honor, our nation highest military award, for actions at Osage, Kansas, 25 October 1864. (Civil War) Pvt. James Dunlavy is one of 53 Medal Of Honor recipients from the State of Iowa. God Bless Walk Forrest Walk

Flying Grandma's

7 Miles Today; Had a nice walk this morning, my buddy from St. John's walked with me. Ron if you should happen to read today's blog., thanks for coming this morning and telling me about about your motorcycle trip to the East Coast. The time went so fast, we could have walked another 7 miles. Also this very important update for "Tri-Girl," watch out for the "Flying Grandma's". My bride and her friend, Audrey rode their bikes 31 miles yesterday. Forrest would like to hire the Flying Grandma's for look-outs because he feels that Tri-Girl is planning something diabolical to overtake the "Man"in the near future. As of today, Forrest is 7 miles South of Bloomfield, Iowa on Hwy 63. My next benchmark destination is Waterloo Iowa, some 157 miles North of today's location. God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

Iowa

9 Miles Today; Forrest is now officially in the State of Iowa. I crossed the border some 2 miles back. Forrest will be in open country until the town of Bloomfield shows up, some 14 miles from here. I passed through the town of Lancaster, Missouri today. This little note about Lancaster. The father of the reclusive multi-millionaire Howard Hughes, was born in Lancaster. Since Missouri is in my rear view mirror, I bid you farewell. Tomorrow is another day. Walk Forrest Walk

Lonely In Missouri

7 Miles Today; Sunny and a warm 78 degrees today. My week ended on a high note, the aches and pains that I was experiencing earlier in the week are gone for now. My mileage total was 52. Fifty mile weeks makes Forrest a happy camper. But there is a down side, I have to come up with $120 plus every 3-4 months for new shoes. That's money well spent, never, never, never, scrimp on footwear, one goes as your feet go, Forrest knows all runners & walkers would agree. Forrest stopped at the Lancaster, Mo. Golf Course some 2 miles South of the town on Hwy. 63. Tomorrow its the last day in Missouri, Forrest is 7 miles from the State Line of Missouri/Iowa. I hear there is nothing there except a road sign, saying Welcome To Iowa. Forrest hopes everyone had a nice Independence Day/week-end (Debbie/Dan (Virgina) Tri-Girl (New Jersey) Brian/Dawn (Missouri) Dallas Guy (Texas) Renae (Chicago) Tom/Tonia (S. Happy Birthday America

7 Miles Today; What a beautiful day to walk, Forrest felt great and the weather couldn't be any nicer. Today, I enter the town of Queen City Mo. pop. 650, on Hwy 63 just 14 miles from Iowa. So as it stands now, Forrest will be at the Missouri/Iowa State Line the day after tomorrow, Sunday. I'm looking forward to reading all about Iowa and its citizens, past and present. In honor of Independence Day, I give you this quote, from one of my favorite Patriots, John Adams "I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure it will cost us to maintain the declaration, and suport and defend these states. Yet through all the gloom I see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is worth all the means. this is our day of deliverance." John Adams (July 2, 1776). Strange But True

9 Miles Today; Forrest just went through Sublette Missouri. All there is to this so called town , is a blinker light and two buildings. I'm in God's Country with open farm country until I get to the state line and then there is even more God's Country. Anyway Forrest started thinking,,,,,Sublette, hmmmmm, that name rings a bell. Something told me that I wrote about a Sublette somewhere in my travels. So being the fine detective that I am, Forrest checked his past blogs......and to my surprise, here's what I found. Thursday, March 20, 2008 The Title of my blog for that day was 1000 Miles From Nowhere: 8 miles today: Just like the song in my blog title says, Dwight Yoakam the country singer who also wrote the song must have been in this county when he got the inspiration to compose that song. Forrest is in SUBLETTE, KANSAS, pop 1600. Nothing here, just flat land. Sublette, Ka and Sublette Mo. both towns on my route in two different states (575 miles between them) each one being in the middle of nowhere. Forrest wonders what the odds are of that every happening again to someone. All that makes sense to Forrest is, maybe the POPE sent me to these two towns to give them a special blessing. If you believe that Forrest could sell snow to the Eskimos. It looks like I'll will be in the great state of Iowa in about 3 days. Until then, Walk Forrest Walk

Downtown Kirksville

7Miles Today; Beautiful walking day, mid seventies and sunny. My heel is almost 100%. I feels so good to walk, listen to my ipod and feel no discomfort, from my hips, shins, feet. Forrest has the same difficulties as all runners & walkers. It goes with the sport. If I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't participate. Now it's history time boys & girls.......Today Forrest is on Hwy 63, in the city of Kirksville, Mo. population 17,000. Kirksville was founded in 1828, mostly settlers from Kentucky and was named after the 1st postmaster named Jessie Kirk (that's a no-brainer)...The big news of today July 2, from the town's newspaper, The Kirksville Dailyl Express reports that TCS (Tractor Supply Store) is moving to a new building. (Let me tell ya folks, that's a biggie). Also Kirksville the home of Truman State University, and the birthplace of General John J. Pershing (4 Star General of the Army) WWI.....my blog was 2 hrs later than usual, we lost power due to contactors cutting a power line on Herbison Road....Have a nice Wednesday Walk Forrest Walk

8 Miles Today; My walk today was pain free, my heel has decided it wants to be part of me and my journey. Forrest is glad to have Mr. Heel back on board. It was bright and sunny today, around 72 degrees. Since it is the first of the month, Forrest would like to tell you where I was located on the 1st of every month in 2008. Jan. 1st (Alamogordo NM) Feb. 1st (Santa Rosa NM) Mar. 1st (Dalhart Tx) Apr. 1st (Dodge City Ka) May 1st (Odessa Neb) Jun. 1st (Auburn Neb). July 1st (La Plata Mo).
