me.......7 Miles Today; Forrest finished this week of walking with a very early walk this morning. I started in the dark at 5am, and got back to the house with the sun in my eyes. Today Forrest's attention is devoted to baseball. The Dewitt High School Baseball Team is playing in the State Baseball Regional Tournament about a 45 minute drive from here. The first game is at 10am. If the kids win, the championship game is at 3pm. After baseball Mr. & Mrs Forrest have a graduation open house to attend Saturday evening 5-8. Forrest finished his week by logging 56 miles, that's up from 49 miles last week. Forrest hopes his sore hip, and kidney stone problems are in the past. Now lets fast forward to County Wexford, Ireland. Forrest is always looking for the unconventional story.....well today I've found one. I'm half way between Enniscorthy and Wexford on Route-R11. I just passed through the small village Oylegate or is it Oylegate??? The name is officially spelled as Oilgate and this spelling can be found on road signs entering the village, also on all official Ireland maps. HOWEVER, the spelling Oylegate is found on a plaque on the wall of the village's national school dated 1929 and most of the local citizens spell it as such. The Irish name for Oylegate is (Bearna na hAille) meaning gap or gate and the word Aille means cliff. So in translation "Oylegate" is a place where the River Shaney breaks through the gap in the cliffs on its way to Wexford harbor. If it makes any difference Forrest likes the Oylegate version best. That's it for Saturday June 6th. Take a moment to remember what happened in Europe 65 years ago today.......Until Tomorrow, God Bless Walk Forrest Walk
