Quick Visit To Waterford, Ireland

Waterford, Ireland..
8 Miles Today; Forrest walked in a steady drizzle this morning but my walk went great, because nothing hurt today. Saturday's are good for walking because nobody seems to be out at the time I walk, I suppose it's because they're all sleeping in. Forrest broke the 60 miles mark for his weekly miles for only the 2nd time this year, I logged 61 miles this week. My visit to County Waterford is my 19th Ireland county since my journey began. I crossed the River Barrow from County Kilkenny to County Waterford. After a quick look around I learned this is the city where the famous "Waterford Crystal" originated and was manufactured. At least it was until early 2009 when Waterford Crystal was shut down after the company went into receivership. The famous and much in demand Waterford Crystal is produced in other Locations throughout Europe, notable Germany and the Czech Republic. In February of this year, the receiver, David Carson of "Deloitte", confirmed a US equity firm KPK Capital purchased certain assets of the company. FYI, my daughter Renae is senior manager at one of Deloitte's divisions. After a short visit here I'll heading back across the river into County Kilkenny and start walking towards The city of Kilkenny some 25 miles north on road N9. Forrest will be making his way to Galway, Ireland before turning south to finish out his Ireland journey in County Cork sometime next month (July). Until tomorrow, God Bless Walk Forrest Walk
