Sunshine Everywhere

Flag of Leinster Province......8 Miles Today; Things are going very well for Forrest, I'm feeling great, and nothing hurts today. The weather was a little on the cool side this morning, about 50 degrees when I walked, but it was nice and sunny. My boys won their baseball game last night, they play again Wednesday, then it's on to the State Regional on Saturday. Forrest noticed on the map that he has entered County Wexford, his 17th out of 32 Irish counties he has visited on his "Working On A Dream" journey. County Wexford is ranked 13th of the Irish counties by area. Its population is about 132,000 with its county seat located in the Town of Wexford. This region of Ireland is dominated by agriculture, mainly the growing of wheat, and the raising of livestock. And let us not forget..."TOURISM" which is also huge in this part of Ireland. County Wexford is affectionately know as "Ireland's Sunny Southeast" this is because this part of Ireland gets considerable more sunshine than the rest of Ireland. As Forrest enjoys his scenic walk south on N11 to Town Wexford some 40 miles away, I'll continue to look for some interesting facts about Ireland. FYI, the picture Forrest posted of the Flag of Leinster Province represents the Irish counties of Wexford, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offally, Westmeath, and Wicklow. The flag use to have a background of blue until it was changed to green after the 1798 Rebellion. The Flag of Leinster was the unofficial Irish Flag from 1798 into early 20th century. If you like history, this is good stuff. So until tomorrow God Bless, Walk Forrest Walk

As you approach Enniscorthy and in to Wexford keep a look out for 1798 monuments and ask the locals about their area during that time. Dont leave Wexford without having a pint of Guinness in The Sky and the Ground, a nice little Irish pub with a very welcoming atmosphere. Theres also local trad music there certain nights of the week. Its a great place with people from everywhere there on any given night.
