Approaching Historic Mandan, ND

7 Miles Today;  ICE, ICE, ICE.............I'll wait until later.........It's now mid-afternoon and I'm glad I got through my walk unscathed.  I did a lot of shuffling just to keep my balance.  With the ice and a temperature of 20 degrees and a slight breeze, Forrest was all by himself today.      Until tomorrow, God Bless Walk Forrest Walk
Lewis & Clark Update
October 1804
On the west side of the mighty Missouri River, lies Fort Abraham Lincoln near present day Mandan, North Dakota .  This area along the Lewis & Clark Trail encompasses history of legendary proportions. Lewis and Clark camped here in late October 1804.  Home of the Mandan Indians, the expedition stay here in the winter of 1804-1805.  History tells us that famous Civil War General George A. Custer and his vaunted 7th Cavalry rode out from Fort Abraham Lincoln to their destiny at the Little Bighorn.....to be continued......
