Warm Ending To Jan, 2012

Jan 31, 2012  University of Michigan students
enjoying the 55 degree weather
8 Miles Today;  What a glorious day to end the normally cold month of January.  The roads were wet but Forrest is not complaining.  With a unbelievable temperature of 51 degrees, a bright sunny day, my aches and pains seemed not so important.  Speaking of aches and pains, my doctor visit yesterday was a mixture of good and bad news.  The bad news is I have degenerative disk disease in the lower back (L-2/L3).  Secondly, Forrest has signs of beginning osteporsis in both hips.   The doctors said that both ailments are the results of the "ageing process" .   The good news is walking is recommended for arthritis, (maybe not quite as much as Forrest).  My treatment for now is the medication called Mobic (meloxicam) A anti-inflammatory pill taken each day instead of two Aleve pills I take now.  Forrest visits the doctor for evaluation one month from today.  OK, enough of the medical stuff.............My walking month of January 2012 ended on high note.  Forrest logged 215 miles compared to 206 miles in January 2011.  In Mid-February Forrest will reach the 14,000 miles of consecutive walking days.  Until tomorrow, God Bless Walk Forrest Walk
